In 1999, twenty years since the first Apple computer was placed on a school desk, educators are still struggling to integrate technology into the curriculum. The purpose of this study was to investigate the challenges that teacher-librarians encounter as they integrate technology into the Saskatchewan core curricula. My experience as a teacher who cooperatively developed Resource-Based Learning units led me to believe that teacher-librarians are capable of supplying resources and curriculum support for technology. I developed a working relationship with teacher-librarians that could be used as a vehicle for reflection and expression of their concerns. It seemed to me that we could collaboratively examine the use of technology and assist teachers who still struggle to integrate technology. We believed our reflections could be strengthened with an investigation of the challenges teachers and teacher-librarians encountered as they attempted to develop GrassRoots projects.; Three teacher-librarians from three rural schools participated in a collaborative action research process that focussed on the integration of technology into school programs.* (Abstract shortened by UMI.); *This dissertation includes a CD that is multimedia (contains text and other applications that are not available in a printed format).
